Hadley Joy, you are 3 and 3/4 years old. You are so excited about turning 4 soon! So far you have asked for a gift card and a back scratcher for your birthday. You pick out things of Mommy's and ask "can I wear that dress when I get bigger?" Daddy will organize the closet and mommy's shoes, but it really is no use, because the very next morning I will find my high heels either on your feet or scattered throughout the closet.
You enjoy doing your hair in front of your Ariel Vanity. You are pretty good at it, because I have only had to untangle the curling iron from your hair once. You like to wear lip gloss like Mommy and wear dresses that you can twirl in.
You have been fascinated with the movie Frozen along with every other child on this planet. You know the songs by heart and can quote the whole movie. When you play, you are always "Elsa". Mommy and Daddy catch themselves singing the songs...even when you are not around. SO, we have encouraged you to watch other movies, and you are now loving Belle from Beauty and the Beast. You carry your bucket around while you sing and dance.
You are such a good mommy to Baby Alice. Although she is usually naked, you always try to wrap her in a blanket so she is not cold. You are practicing for when your little brother gets here.
Speaking of your little brother, you love him so much already. You hug my belly and sing songs to him. You are going to be an amazing big sister and such a big help to Mommy!
You just finished your first year of Preschool! You adore your teachers Ms. Michelle and Ms. Hannah. I think you and Ms. Michelle became best buds! We will miss them! You will also miss your "BFF" Lexi M. Every story from school included Lexi M. My favorite part is that you call her Lexi M. :)
You are completely potty trained, even wearing panties overnight! You have actually been doing that for a long time now. I love looking back at you in your car seat and you have your little legs crossed. It is precious. You are growing up, little girl.
On days that I have to wake you up in the morning, you sound just like you are 13..."leave me alone...I'm so tired...give me a few more minutes." Then I just leave the door open so light can come in to help wake you up. You proceed to get out of bed, close the door, and then get back into bed under your covers. You make me smile!
Daddy and I were talking about how sad we will be when we no longer find, books, baby Alice, cups/plates, and little figurines in our bed and on our floor. I love seeing little traces of you in our home. You make our home a happy place to be!
We have tried to establish some boundaries, but they aren't quite sticking yet. I still can't use the restroom without you having a tea party at my feet or sitting on my lap. Instead of coming into our room in the mornings, you stand in the hallway and say, "Mommy, can I come cuddle you?" Usually this is around 8:00am and I absolutely love our cuddle time! It has only happened once or twice around 3:30 am, but you got lucky because Mommy was so delirious that she said yes. (Daddy quickly escorted you back to your bed though :)
When we pull up in the drive way, and Mommy or Daddy are already home, you like to "fart the fart thing". I have no idea where you came up with that. If something tasted weird to you, you always say, "it tastes salty." 1 out of 10 times you nail it on the head. You also say, "it's freezing hot!" I love your little sayings...because I know one day you will grow out of these sayings, so I love hearing them now. I also love how you say your "o's" "OOOOtmeal"..."OOOOpen"...it's just too cute!
You are a good eater, even though you are pretty slow some days. The only thing you really don't like are avocados and mashed potatoes. I think it's a texture issue. Other than that, you really aren't picky. You love bacon..."real" bacon, just like Grandma!
Your laugh is adorable! Your smile is beautiful! You are my favorite little girl!
When Mommy and Daddy are talking in the car, I have to be careful because you do repeat everything. So when I am talking with Daddy about a "sensitive" topic, I try to lower my voice. Then I hear you say, "Can you talk louder, I can't hear you." You are definitely my child! You are so funny and you always make Mommy and Daddy laugh.
You love learning about Jesus. You ask lots of questions and speak truth about Jesus, and Mommy is so proud of you. Sometimes you talk about death and I try to answer your questions the best I can, but you think of some tough questions!
You love talking about marriage and husbands and babies!! Daddy isn't ready for all that yet!! The only boy you are allowed to kiss is your daddy!!
You run around yelling, "I'm so happy!! I'm having so much fun!" Your smile and spirit are infectious! You aren't afraid to show emotion and express love for others. We usually tell each other "I love you" about 30 times a day, but my favorite is the way we show it. You love to hug, and pat Daddy on the back, and climb up in our laps and just be together always!
Hadley Joy, you are such a special little girl. You are passionate and a little stubborn. You have such a sensitive heart, and you feel so deeply. You don't like to disappoint people. You are a free spirit and just like to have fun! Mommy and Daddy love you!
