First Black Eye

Hadley Joy received her first black eye two days ago. :( She was staring at her beautiful reflection in a floor mirror and decided to pull it down on top of herself. It was a bit traumatic for both mommy and baby. Dr. Ross checked her up and down for broken bones and bleeding. Once she calmed down, she got back to acting her normal cheerful self; however, the remnants were left on her face.

Pop and Grandma sent us some onion bulbs for planting. Hadley and I had so much fun planting them. Hadley was Mommy's big helper!

Hadley's way of helping...after I plant them, she pulls them out...

She really enjoyed the dirt...

Pretty Pretty Princess

Last night Avery, Dane, and Campbell came over to play with Hadley. We had such a fun time dressing up like princesses, eating pizza and ice cream, and watching Jungle Book.

Trying to get everyone together for a picture...it was quite an effort!

Lord, Make Me Fast and Accurate...

IT IS OFFICIAL!!! Ross has successfully completed his first year of Medical School! As of today, it is officially summer vacation! Hadley and I are so excited to have him all to ourselves!

To My Husband,

Hadley and I are so proud of you! You did an amazing job this year balancing your class/studying time and family time. We feel very loved by you, and we hope that you feel the same from us.

You have worked so hard to get where you are, and you are going to make one amazing doctor...not to mention one HOTT doctor!

We appreciate all the sacrifices you have made for us. Thank you for always putting our needs above your own. Your heart for the Lord is a true testament to us, and we could not ask for a more perfect husband and father.

We can't wait to spend the WHOLE summer with you! We love you!

Love, Your girls

My Big Girl

Hadley, you are such a big girl! I can't believe how much you have accomplished in the past two weeks!

First you started to push/stand up in your crib...then you started to push up to your hands and feet and plop on your bottom...then you started to scoot all over the room...then you started to CRAWL! You actually crawled for the first time at our play date on Tuesday morning with all of our friends watching! I was so proud of you!

Now it's like you are practically an adult! Taking nice long bubble baths...

Picking out a Big Girl Car Seat...

Drinking from a Straw Sippee Cup! I know that it's only the beginning and we are so excited to watch you grow up sissy!

Here are several videos of all of Hadley's accomplishments!

Your daddy and I are so proud of you baby girl!

Heads or Tails...

I got to see my two precious boys this week! They are so generous and cuddly and I just fall in love with them more and more every time I get to see them.

Before I left them on Wednesday night, Benjamin and I played a game of Heads or Tails with his very special quarter. Here is how it went...

Jessi - "OK, I will flip the quarter and you say heads or tails...OK call it!"

Ben - "Heads or Tails!"

Jessi - " (hehe) OK this time say heads, OR say tails...OK call it!'

Ben - "Heads!"

Jessi - "Yeah...you won! OK, call it again!"

Ben - "Tails!'

Jessi - "Yeah...you won! OK, call it again!"

Ben - "Hot Fire!"

Jessi - "(heheheh) WHAT?!? Where did that come from?!? OK, lets do it again. Call it!"

Ben - "Uh...Uh...4!!!"

Oh my sweet Benjamin! You never know what that boy is going to come up with! As Nana, Hadley and I were walking to the car to head home, I yelled back at Benjamin, "I Love You Benjamin!" And I swear he lowered his voice two octaves and yelled back, "I Love You Jessi!" That boy melts my heart!!

While we were watching American Idol, Joshy was getting sleepy so he laid his head in my lap and fell asleep. I enjoyed every minute of cuddling with my Reuben.

I sure miss seeing my boys every week, but I love spending time with them every chance I get!

Boys, just know that Jessi loves you "To The Moon and Back!"

9 Months

Hadley girl, you are 9 months old. We went to the doctor today and here are your stats:

  • Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz

  • Height: 27 1/2 inches

  • Head: 44 1/2 cm

We spent the day together on Saturday, taking pictures, shopping, eating lunch at Utica Square, and getting frozen yogurt at Cherry Berry. You love strawberry frozen yogurt!

At this point, you thought it was more fun to eat grass than to smile for the camera!

You can officially maneuver yourself from a laying down position, to a sitting position. You can not crawl yet; however, every time I turn around you are in a different position and different place in the room. You are starting to pull yourself into a standing position too, which means daddy better lower your crib mattress soon!

You have a ticklish neck, just like your mommy. When I lightly touch/stroke your neck, you wrinkle your nose and shrug your shoulders, and let out a big sigh as if you can't even speak until I stop touching your neck. (mommy does that too)

I love the special laughs and giggles you save just for me. They are so precious to mommy, and they are sweet to my ears.

You spend every Sunday morning in the church nursery. Mommy had a hard time leaving you there at first, and there were definitely some tears shed. (not by you...only by mommy). Every time I pick you up after church, your teacher just can't say enough about how great you were! They all want to take you home with them! I love hearing how you were such a good girl with a sweet spirit. That makes mommy so proud of you.

You are still an excellent sleeper. I think you love to snuggle because you always end up with your head smashed into one of the four corners of your crib. You just like to cuddle with your bootie still up in the air!

The "cuddle" stage you were going through at 7 and 8 months has definitely passed. You are now onto "pushing". You like to use your feet and both hands and PUSH yourself away from mine and your daddy's body while we are holding you. You are not being hateful, I just think you are going to be a very "busy" little girl. :)

You have a new smile. When mommy says "cheese" you wrinkle your nose and close your eyes and I get to see all 4 teeth! You also have a "fake cough". I love that you are my little ham! You can always make your daddy and I smile. :)

Hadley, your daddy and I love you very much. You are a very special girl, and don't you ever forget that. Your sweet spirit shines through your beautiful blue eyes, and there is such a sense of purity about you. I can't believe you are 9 months! That is how long you lived in mommy's belly, while God was making you perfect for us! You were definitely "hand picked" by God just for me and your daddy. We love you!
