Patterns are your friend...

I did it!!  Pillow #2!  From the start, I have decorated my house with a "neutral" mindset, so that I could change it up and add color pops here and there...well here it is!  I'm loving the patterns and colors!  Can't wait to go get more fabric!

Sewing Project #1

I'm branching out people!  I do not own a sewing machine, but I have always wanted to be crafty enough to sew pillows and blankets/quilts and one day a dress for Hadley!  Lucky for me, I have a wonderful friend who was not using her sewing machine at the moment ; ) and let me borrow it!  Thanks Airika!

Here are my supplies:  A sewing machine, pillow insert, scissors, measuring tape, fall fabric, and a lady on YouTube.com telling me how to thread my machine!

Here is the final product...my pillow!  I don't think I am a very patient person when it comes to taking the time to "learn" new things...I think I am more of a "Do it!" and we'll see how it turns out in the end.  With that said, I think my pillow turned out great!  (Just don't look at the bottom :)   That leads me to my next question...does anyone have any advice on sewing up the bottom of the pillow cover once the insert is inside?!?

Hadley helped me paint a chair in the garage all morning.  Ok, not so much paint, as she rode her 4 wheeler, and transferred scrap pieces of wood from one bucket to the next, but a big helper she was!  I think all that playing wore her out, so we just cuddled in our blanket, ate popcorn, and watched movies all afternoon...have I mentioned, how much I love this girl?!?

One pillow down...4 more to go!

Oklahoma State Fair 2012

There are several events throughout the year that are staples in our house...and the State Fair is definitely one of them!  We love it!  Unfortunately, my mom and dad were unable to go with us at the last minute...we missed you guys!  Hadley only gets to see Joshy and Ben maybe once a month, so she really enjoys her time with them for sure!  At the end of the day, Ben did not want her to leave. :(

Hadley turned 2 on July 29th and this is her 3rd trip to the State Fair!

The girls :)

Hadley and her Uncle Juan...

I asked Hadley if she wanted to ride the horsey...(we are on a big horsey/cowgirl/ye-haa/get it cowgirl phase right now)...and she said YES!  She walked right up to this man and reached for him so he could put her on the horse....she did not even look back!  I could not believe it!  There was a little part of me that felt sad because I realized she isn't a baby anymore, but I was so excited for her to know what she wanted and be brave enough to go get it!

Get it Cowgirl!!

Another favorite was the car show...they just hopped from one car to the next through the whole building!

Ross' favorite was the barns.  Hadley loved seeing all the horses and she wasn't afraid!

You can't go to the Fair without riding the BIG SLIDE...

Now it may look like John and I are on a date, but there is a special little boy sitting next to me that is hidden by the side railing.  The fact that he is not in these pictures is still a source of contention right now, so lets not talk about it...

At this point, we were just trying to use up the extra tickets...fun house anyone?

Someone was getting a little sleepy...but nothing a deep fried sugary snack can't fix!

My favorites!

Guess What?!?  The Fair is now coming to Tulsa this week!  I already bought Hadley tickets for Disney on Ice: Dare to Dream.  It's Rapunzel!  Here we go again!
